Why is this important?

Suicide is a major, preventable public health problem that can have lasting harmful effects on individuals, families, and communities. It is the tenth leading cause of death in the US. Despite many efforts, suicide rates have increased by more than 30% from 1999 to 2019. Every 11 minutes, someone dies from suicide.
