Adults with Work Limitations due to Arthritis

Select a County
Measurement Period: 2021
This indicator show the percent of adults with arthritis who report that arthritis or joint symptoms affects their ability to work.

Why is this important?

Arthritis affects more than 1 in 5 adults in the United States. It's the nation's most common cause of disability. Almost half of adults with arthritis report that it limits their daily activities, and about 1 in 20 working-age U.S. adults report work limitations due to arthritis or joint symptoms. Medical costs and earnings losses due to arthritis continue to rise. An increase in education, awareness, and workplace accommodations may help reduce arthritis disability in the U.S. workforce.
